Oregon baseball vs. Michigan Game 3: Live updates, scores and analysis
Follow along as the Ducks attempt to win another series on the road in an early morning game against the Michigan Wolverines.
The Oregon Ducks (24-7, 8-3 Big Ten) will try to take the weekend series on the road against the Michigan Wolverines (15-14, 4-7 Big Ten) in an early morning rubber match. The Wolverines took game one of the series on Thursday, beating the Ducks 10-0 in a game that ended after seven innings due to the run rule. The Ducks bounced back in the middle game of the series, snapping a 22-inning scoring drought en route to a 5-2 win.
Oregonโs struggles at the plate continued until Jack Brooks launched a solo home run in the fifth inning to get the Ducks on the board. After taking the lead in the seventh, the Ducks added three more runs in the eighth inning for insurance, giving starting pitcher Collin Clarke his fifth win of the season. Ryan Cooney finished the game with two RBI.
The Ducks will turn to right-hander Cal Scolari for the series finale. The San Diego transfer turned in his best performance as a Duck in his last outing against UC Santa Barbara. Scolari helped the Ducks secure the series win over the Gauchos by tossing six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and picking up a season-high nine strikeouts.
He has a 2. 57 ERA this season. The Wolverines have yet to announce a starter for Saturdayโs game.
