Who did the Vikings land in NFL Network's 5-Round NFL Mock Draft?
The Vikings land a new defender in a 5-round mock draft from NFL Network.
The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh this month, a city where the Vikings could select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft. Thankfully, we now have some added context for players now that the scouting combine has come and gone.
NFL Network's Chad Reuter recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going in the defensive direction, but also with a new position compared to what we have seen in the past. He has the team selecting Florida's talented defensive lineman Caleb Banks to sure up their efforts in the trenches. Reuter explains the Banks pick, writing, "Banks is a run stuffer with the ability to get in the face (and passing lanes) of opposing quarterbacks.
Solid long-term investment for Minnesota's D-line. " The mock draft goes beyond one round, though, as he dove into five full rounds. The rest of the mock gave the Vikings the following players: D'Angelo Ponds, CB, Indiana Genesis Smith, S, Arizona Sam Hecht, C, Kansas State Demond Claiborne, RB, Wake Forest Several needs get addressed this way with Ponds and Hecht being projected as starters.
