Apr. 4—Gracie Lawrence went 2-for-3 with four RBIs as Brewer defeated Decatur 12-5 at the Morgan County softball tournament at Wilson Morgan Park on Friday. Cadence Lott homered, singled and drove in three runs for the Patriots, while LC Hamilton added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.
Mackenzie Irmen doubled, singled and drove in a run and Lawrence pitched all five innings for the win, striking out four. Annabelle Matthews tripled, doubled and drove in three runs for Decatur, while Miley Daniels added two hits and one RBI. — Brewer 6, West Morgan 2: Irmen drove in a pair of runs for Brewer.
Taylor Pellem doubled and drove in a run and Sophia Homan pitched five strong innings for the win, striking out five. Adi Grace Rodgers doubled and drove in a run for West Morgan, while Tensley Suggs added one hit. — Austin 3, Danville 1: Charlie Barnes was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate for Austin at the Morgan County softball tournament on Friday, driving in one run.
