While this isn’t the worst start to the season, things nearly got a whole lot worse on Friday night, as the Twins’ two-time All-Star Byron Buxton got drilled by a 92 miles per hour pitch in the bottom of the seventh. Soon after Buxton made his way into Minnesota’s locker room, it would be reported that the X-Rays were negative, while he did ultimately suffer from a contusion in his right forearm. This was great news to the Twins’ faithful, as their star slugger avoided a potentially bigger injury. Buxton would talk to reporters about his injury after the match, saying that he’s happy his arm isn’t broken.
