The one-of-a-kind baseball card discovered inside an unopened pack of cards purchased last year at a sports collectables shop in Cuyahoga Falls has been sold at auction. And the rare 1/1 Topps Chrome Baseball collectible baseball card has fetched a jaw-dropped amount. Rich Rinella, owner of All-Pro Sportscards , said the card purchased by one of his regular customers was sold at auction by Fanatics for some $2.
16 million in late March. The customer found the special redemption card tucked inside of a pack in a 2025 Topps Chrome Jumbo Baseball Card Box back in July. 'This is a million dollar card': Rare MLB card signed by Judge, Ohtani found at Falls shop The card that wasn't even made until after last year's baseball season concluded is a dual autograph Gold Logoman Patch card signed by 2024 MVP winners Aaron Judge (American League) and Shohei Ohtani (National League).
The card contains the signatures from both of the two players along with the gold patches worn on the backs of their jerseys in 2025. Rinella said the card was worth more than they initially thought and turned out to be a pretty good investment for a box of cards that cost $550 at the time. "All that for a piece of cardboard," he said.
Customers have discovered some gems in the past inside card packs sold at the store. Some of those previous discoveries were worth as much as $10,000. Inspired by those signs found at convenience stores where big lottery tickets are sold, Rinella said, he's considering crafting his own one proclaiming the $2 million sports card find.
