The Wisconsin Badgers women's soccer team announced defender Kiara Gilmore had been selected to the US U-19 women's national team.

The Wisconsin Badgers women's soccer team announced defender Kiara Gilmore has been selected to the US U-19 women's national team . Gilmore had previously played in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, where the USA finished third, its best finish since the inaugural tournament in 2008. The Texas native was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team during Wisconsin's 2025 season.

She played 1,801 minutes during her 21 games started. Gilmore had four assists as a freshman, and she was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Team and TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Best XI Second Team. After being invited to the 2025 U-19 US women's national team training camp, Gilmore is set to head to Argentina as part of the U-19 squad.

While the majority of the team is made up of collegiate players, Gilmore will be joined by three NWSL players (Melanie Barcenas, Evan O'Steen, and Micayla Johnson) and one USL Super League player (Sealey Strawn).
