Commanders go offense at No. 7 in new 7-round mock draft
In a recent CBS Sports seven-round mock draft, the Washington Commanders split their six picks evenly between offense and defense.
The Washington Commanders have just six picks in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, which is just 19 days away. NFL draft analysts and experts have not formed a consensus on which players the Commanders will select with their No. 7 overall pick.
We have seen a variety of names associated with the Commanders on both sides of the ball, with no one really certain on who the pick will be. Of course, the pick largely depends on which players are available. In a seven-round mock draft by CBS Sports' Josh Edwards, Carnell Tate, Sonny Styles, and Arvell Reese are off the board when it comes time to pick.
So, the Commanders end up selecting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. Washington first signed Austin Ekeler and then approached the position à la carte -- a little bit of this, a little bit of that to fill the room. Jeremiyah Love is the full menu, and he would take a lot of pressure off Jayden Daniels.
Running back is a need, and options are limited in this draft class. Here's the thing, though. Running back isn't a huge need for the Commanders.
