Commanders reveal offseason dates for 2026 OTAs and mandatory minicamp
The Commanders report for the offseason program on April 20, followed by OTAs in May and minicamp in June.
The start of the offseason program can't start soon enough for the Washington Commanders . After a 5-12 season in 2025, Washington is ready to turn the page. The Commanders will look much different in 2026.
Not only does Washington have 13 new outside free agents, but it also has a new offensive coordinator, David Blough, and defensive coordinator, Daronte Jones. On Friday, the NFL revealed the start dates for the offseason programs of all 32 NFL teams. That means quarterback Jayden Daniels can officially begin working with Blough, who has been his assistant quarterback coach for the past two seasons.
Washington reports to Ashburn on April 20 for the first day of the offseason program. The first few weeks of the offseason program will consist of strength and conditioning, meetings and rehab. This is an important part of the offseason, though, because it allows new coordinators to install their schemes.
Next comes the OTAs, which begin the last weekend of May and go into June, before the Commanders break for training camp. It's worth noting that all offseason work is voluntary until the mandatory minicamp in June.
