The national championship game is now set in Phoenix.

The national championship game is set. South Carolina and UCLA will square off in the title game to officially wrap up the women’s NCAA tournament . By Sunday afternoon, either the Gamecocks’ dominant run through the sport will have continued for another season or the Bruins will be headed home with the program’s first-ever tournament title.

South Carolina pulled away from UConn late in the first game on Friday night in Phoenix, though things got extremely contentious in that matchup. UConn head coach Geno Auriemma even had to be held back from Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley after a very heated interaction on the sidelines. But the Gamecocks picked up the 62-48 win , which sent them back to the championship game for a fourth time in the past five seasons.

UCLA then shut down Madison Booker and Texas in the second semifinal game. Lauren Betts led the way, and came up with a huge block on Booker late to seal the 51-44 win. Booker shot just 3-of-23 from the field in what was a rough offensive outing.

The game, which UCLA head coach Cori Close didn’t hesitate to describe as “ugly,” was the third lowest-scoring game in Final Four history. While UCLA has never been to the NCAA championship game in program history, the Bruins did win the AIAW title in 1978 before the NCAA governed women’s sports. Here’s everything you need to know to keep up with the women’s national championship game on Sunday.
