Konnor Griffin's MLB debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates was everything he dreamed it would be.

Konnor Griffin’s MLB debut finally came on Friday afternoon, and it was everything the Pittsburgh Pirates ’ top prospect could have dreamt it could be. Not only did he get his first big-league hit and look solid on defense, but the Pirates also came away with a win over the Baltimore Orioles. For how much attention and hype has surrounded Griffin since he was drafted back in 2024, it’s very easy to forget that he’s still just 19 years old.

Griffin’s game at PNC Park on Friday was easily the biggest crowd he’s ever played in front of, and he admitted that there were some nerves starting to settle in before the game got going. “Yeah, I was [during the] National Anthem. We did intros, all that, [I] couldn't really feel my feet, so that was that was a funny moment,” admitted Griffin .

“I haven't felt like that in a long time, so it really got me going. ” Plus, it wasn’t like Griffin was leading off for the Pirates. He was in the lineup, hitting setup, and had to wait over 40 minutes after the game started to get his first at-bat.
