Detroit almost on the clock for 2027 Final Four
INDIANAPOLIS (WOOD) — Detroit is almost on the clock for the 2027 Final Four and plans are continuing to come along. In order for a city to show it’s serious about hosting a Final Four — and to truly see what a production it is — the NCAA makes the city’s planning commission go to six Final Fours. The Detroit Sports Commission has been to 21.
They also received a little help from the National Football League. The NFL Draft’s success in Detroit definitely helped the city get the Final Four bid. It is also helping a lot with the planning.
Since the city just hosted a major event, they can use a lot of those plans for the Final Four. The city is still riding that momentum. The Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will be in 2028, along with the men’s Midwest regional.
