The 22-year-old has featured in 25 matches for Monaco this season, securing four assists in the process across various competitions. The Senegalese talent is currently among the best young midfielders in Ligue 1.
Hence, Sunderland should focus on getting a deal done for him later this year. His current contract at Monaco will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Black Cats to sign him on the cheap later this year.
