Steelers under fire from Colin Cowherd over fear of rebuilding

Yahoo Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers were blasted by Colin Cowherd over their failure to adapt to the offense-focused NFL and a fear of rebuilding.

The ever-outspoken Colin Cowherd has never been shy about taking shots at the Pittsburgh Steelers whenever he gets an opportunity. And it's clear he isn't impressed by the recent offseason additions the team has made. On a recent episode of The Herd podcast, Cowherd claimed several NFL league executives were confused about what exactly Pittsburgh's plan was heading into 2026 before he took aim at the Steelers , comparing their "slow" and "outdated" roster to a "small town bully" afraid to rebuild.

"You know, what I think is sort of ironic about the Steelers, they've always projected the toughness," Cowherd said. "Mike Tomlin's teams projected this toughness. And it's like the small town bully.

He's got the barbed wire tattoo, got the four-by-four cowboy hat. But he's really terrified to ever leave his hometown. … And the Steelers had that kind of bully complex.

'We're tough, we're intimidating. ' No, you're terrified to rebuild. You're terrified to rebrand yourself.
