Organ Mountain girls track and field's Arianna Ogas has been voted as the Las Cruces Sun-News El Paso Children's Hospital Athlete of the Week for March 23-28. Ogas was one of 10 track and field, baseball and softball nominees from Las Cruces, Mayfield, Organ Mountain and Centennial. The other nominees were the following: Daxton Coombs, Organ Mountain boys track and field Hunter Parmeter, Las Cruces baseball Kian Almanza, Las Cruces girls track and field Asa Laws, Organ Mountain boys track and field Cole Alons, Centennial baseball Ariana Lujan, Mayfield softball Audrina Guillen, Mayfield softball Mateo Marquez, Centennial baseball Israel Molina, Centennial baseball Ogas won the honor with 49.
65% of the vote with 6,544 total votes. Coombs came second with 4,173 votes and Parmeter finished third with 1,722 votes. She won the 100 meters in 12. 74 seconds and the 200 meters in 26. 58 seconds.
Ogas' two first-place finishes helped the Knights win the event as a team in the girls standings with 147 points. Ogas is the second-straight Organ Mountain track and field athlete to be voted as the Athlete of the Week after Asa Laws won the honor for the week of March 16-21.
