Bruno Fernandes: United ace equals Ronaldo milestone with latest honour
Bruno Fernandes: United ace equals Ronaldo milestone with latest honour Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has added another feather to his cap after an outstanding month of March. The Portuguese magician is enjoying a glorious run of form and has been a vital cog in the Red Devils’ rise under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. The English giants struggled for form and consistency under former head coach Ruben Amorim , who was replaced by the Englishman in January.
United have subsequently climbed to third in the Premier League table after 31 games, thanks to a run of seven wins and two draws from 10 games under Carrick. Central to the Red Devils’ resurgent form has been a marauding Fernandes operating in his favoured No. 10 position.
The 31 year old’s performances last month have now been rewarded. Premier League Player of the Month for March The Premier League has announced that Fernandes has won the Premier League Player of the Month for March. The Portuguese enjoyed a stunning run last month, contributing to at least one goal in each of United’s four league games.
Fernandes was among seven players nominated for the award, which is voted for by fans. The Portuguese saw off stiff competition from James Garner, Danny Welbeck, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Gordon, Alex Iwobi and David Raya to clinch the top prize for the sixth time. Fernandes is the second United player to have won the award this season after Bryan Mbeumo , who was adjudged the winner in October last year.
The Portuguese last won the award in March 2025, while his previous four wins came in 2020, when he lifted the award in February, June, November and December. Fernandes’ record in March Fernandes started the month with a masterclass against Crystal Palace, registering a goal and an assist to help secure a 2-1 win at Old Trafford. The Portuguese then set up Casemiro against Newcastle United in the following game, but it was not enough as United suffered a 2-1 defeat at St James’ Park.
