Cowboys' reveal dates for offseason workouts, OTAs, mandatory minicamp
The Cowboys will kick off their offseason workout program on April 20, with 6 voluntary OTAs to follow in June before mandatory minicamp.
The Cowboys - along with all 32 NFL teams- now know the dates of their offseason workout programs. Things will kick off on Monday, April 20 for the Cowboys players who elect to participate in the first day of the voluntary program. As usual, this is the beginning of Phase One, a two-week period during which activities are limited to meetings, strength and conditioning work, and physical rehab.
Phase Two follows and lasts three weeks. During this span, players get on the field for individual or group instruction and drills as well as so-called "perfect play drills. " Offensive players may line up across from offensive players, and defensive players are allowed to line up across from defensive players, but everything is conducted at a walk-through pace, and no live contact or team offense-versus-team defense action is allowed.
