The Portuguese star equalled former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo ’s tally of six awards with this latest honour. He now sits just one short of the all-time record jointly held by Harry Kane , Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah .
Fernandes starred in United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with a goal and assist, added an assist in the loss to Newcastle , delivered two assists in the 3-1 victory against Aston Villa, and scored from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. His efforts took his Premier League assist tally this season to 16, breaking David Beckham ’s club record of 15 from 1999/00.
