2026 NFL Draft video: Is fantasy football dynasty sleeper KC Concepcion the next Julian Edelman?

By Yahoo Sports Fantasy StaffYahoo Sports

Matt Harmon and Ray Garvin debate KC Concepcion being compared to Julian Edelman on the latest Yahoo Fantasy Forecast.

It’s NFL Draft season and one of the hottest names in the wide receiver prospect pool is KC Concepcion out of Texas A&M. After the 2026 draft concludes in late April, there will be plenty of fantasy football dynasty drafts taking place. Concepcion will be an interesting sleeper target in a WR class that is considered weak at the top but relatively deep.

Matt Harmon was joined by Ray Garvin on the latest episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast to discuss the idea that Concepcion may have a favorable slot comp in the NFL, that of a former New England Patriots legend. The name is in the story headline — so we didn’t really need to tease that (lol). Nonetheless, Garvin compares Concepcion to Edelman, who carved out a very nice little career with New England under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

The two wideouts have a similar frame; KC is listed at 5-foot-11 and 196 pounds, slightly bigger than Edelman. Versatility is also a big factor in the comp; Concepcion can also do a lot over the middle of the field. Harmon counters that Concepcion is much faster than Edelman but Garvin says that it’s more about the role the receiver plays and not the physical tools.

Concepcion isn’t coming into the NFL to be the next Ja’Marr Chase and push defenders vertically. Edelman played Z receiver for Belichick and the Patriots in 12-personnel looks with two tight ends and Concepcion fits that mold, says Harmon, who is high on the former Aggie. Harmon believes Concepcion could go a lot higher in the draft than a lot of people think.
