Mets legend came to the shortstop's defense after a mental lapse contributed to New York's defeat against St. Louis.

Mets legend José Reyes has had it with all the Francisco Lindor slander. After seeing the stream of negativity being said about the Mets’ star — WFAN’s Craig Carton even called for Lindor to “go” — Reyes took to social media to ask eveyone to settle down. “Relax everybody, my guy Francisco Lindor’s going to be good,” Reyes wrote, via X/Twitter .

“Bad days happen — that’s baseball. Could happen to anyone. He’s human just like all of us.

Watch how he responds. This going to be good for him and for the organization. " Here’s what happened.

In the very first inning against the St. Louis Cardinals, the $341 million shortstop committed one of the most baffling mental errors you’ll ever see at the major league level. With a man on first and one out, Lindor fields a routine ground ball at short that should have been an easy double play.
