Giants’ Daniel Susac gets viral family moment after wild celebration leads to child’s tears
Giants catcher Daniel Susac earns a viral moment where a child in his family is caught crying on camera after he earned his third hit.
San Francisco Giants catcher Daniel Susac had quite the debut on April 2. Against the New York Mets, Susac went 3-for-3 and also recorded a walk. He was instrumental in the Giants’ 7-2 win.
A historic day Susac made history with his day at the plate. He became the first Giants player since Kevin Frandsen in 2006 to reach base safely four times in his first MLB start. He also became the first catcher since Mike Piazza in 1992 to hit 3-for-3 and reach base four times.
His brother, Andrew, also played catcher for the Giants. He had a base hit in his debut, making the Susac brothers the sixth brother duo to record base hits in their debut. The rest of his family was enjoying the momentous occasion, although his nephew was not having a good time.
When Susac recorded his third base hit of the day, the camera panned to his nephew crying in the arms of a relative while his family was celebrating. Susac didn’t just have an amazing day at the plate. He earned a successful challenge in the sixth inning to pick up a strikeout on Luis Robert Jr.
