Cucurella avoids Chelsea sanction following Barcelona remark Marc Cucurella will avoid any punishment from Chelsea after saying it would be “hard to turn down” a move to Barcelona in the future. The left-back made headlines this week when speaking about a possible return to his homeland of Spain . “Spain is always Spain,” he said.

“It is where I grew up and you always think about going back. “But I would [prefer to] leave it for a few years down the line. I am very happy here and it is a great life experience.

” Cucurella added that he would consider returning to former club Barcelona if the opportunity arose. “It is clear if that situation did arise, it is hard to turn down, but I would have to consider it in the end. ” Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez was dropped from the squad for the next two games on Friday after saying he would like to live in Madrid amid reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
