Today’s press conference was always going to be a big one for Liam Rosenior as he addressed the fallout of comments from Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez during the international break.
He tried to spin positive on all of it, claiming it was all part of growing together as a group: “We’ve had, honestly, all of the massive conversations, not just about how we play or results, actually how we move forward and what we need to improve. There’s a lot of improvements for us to make, but at the same time, I want a culture here where we can be open and be transparent and challenge each other. ” Rosenior promises “things” which prove players’ commitment Most intriguing of all were Rosenior’s comments about something big in the pipeline: “At the moment, you’ll see in the coming weeks, there’ll be things that happen around this football club that will actually speak louder than words,” Rosenior said.
“You’ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks in terms of the commitment of the players to this project. ” That’s some tease. We can’t imagine what it would be – a new contract for a senior player?
Most of them are already tied down for years to come. We are very curious what it could be… In other news… Chelsea are going to target “emotionally stable” players and “good characters” this summer – if only they’d thought of that before. Rosenior said he wished Cucurella hadn’t gone public with his comments – but that’s rather missing the point of them.
