🚨 Official: Italy, Gattuso leaves too! An honour, thanks to the fans After the resignations of FIGC president Gabriele Gravina and Gianluigi Buffon , today also comes that of head coach Gennaro Gattuso. This is the statement from the Italian Football Federation.

The contract binding the coach to the Italy bench has been terminated by mutual consent. Gravina: “In just a few months, he managed to restore enthusiasm around the national team, instilling in the players and the whole country great pride in the Azzurri shirt” The Italian Football Federation and Gennaro Ivan Gattuso have mutually agreed to terminate the contract that tied the Calabrian coach to the bench of the Italian national football team. The FIGC thanks Gattuso and his entire staff for the professionalism, dedication, and passion with which they worked over the last nine months and wishes them the very best success in the continuation of their careers.

Also included in the statement were Gattuso’s words: “ With pain in my heart, having failed to achieve the objective we had set ourselves, I consider my experience on the national team bench to be over.
