What is your favorite piece of Detroit Lions memorabilia?
Everyone has that one friend or family member whose basement or office looks like it could be out of a sports fan’s dream. The kind where it would be a dream to sit back, relax, and watch a Detroit Lions’ game, like Lions fan Patrick DeVito’s epic setup . And with the sharp rise of collector culture over the last several years, it feels like a good offseason topic to discuss.
For me, personally, collecting started at a young age, and you as you probably could have guessed, a lot of it centered around my favorite football team. From Barry Sanders Starting Lineups to those little helmets you could sometimes find in the 25 cent machines on your way into the grocery store, if it had the Lions logo on it, young Morgan wanted to collect it. Combine that with the fact that I am a 90’s baby that also grew up on Pokémon and sports cards, and you can probably understand why collecting is still a big thing for me today.
That brings us to today’s question of the day—what is your favorite piece of Lions memorabilia that you own? My answer: I went back and forth on this several times so I am going to say a tie between two objects in my collection. My signed Barry Sanders ball that was given to me by a very good friend, and my signed display of Penei Sewell’s game-clinching catch against the Minnesota Vikings back in 2022.
