Mets might have a Marcus Semien problem
This has not been a good stretch.

Right now, though, Semien is looking more like a problem. The veteran second baseman is just 2-for-22 to begin the season, and when you actually look at it, it's even worse than that. Semien's first hit of the year was when Oneil Cruz lost that poorly hit flyball in the sun and had it land on the ground a few feet away from him.
His second hit came on an infield single that bounced off the pitcher's glove -- in another universe, it may have also been an out. It's still not the biggest sample size ever, but it's not like Semien is in his prime anymore. Semien's average dropped from 2023 to 2024, and then again from 2024 to 2025.
Last season with the Rangers, Semien batted . 230 with a . 669 OPS.
