Arizona keeps being just good enough to not win. The Wildcats fell 6-4 at home to ASU on Thursday night at Hi Corbett Field, the opener of a 3-game series, for their fifth consecutive loss. It was the 20 th loss of the season for the UA, which didn’t get to that number until the College World Series in 2025.
Arizona (9-20, 2-8 Big 12) rallied twice to tie it, battling back from an early 2-0 hole and a 3-2 deficit, but a 3-run 7 th for ASU (22-8, 6-4) proved to be the difference. Owen Kramkowski dropped to 1-4 but had one of his best outings of the season. The junior right-hander allowed five runs (four earned) over 6.
