Rodri said that being a former Atletico Madrid player doesn’t stop him from joining Madrid.
The midfielder’s contract at City will expire in June 2027, but the Premier League giants have offered him a new deal, per Fabrizio Romano. The decision now rests with the player and his family. If the Spaniard rejects the offer, City are expected to demand a huge fee for a transfer in the summer or let him leave on a free in 2027.
Rodri is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He is highly rated for his intelligence, composure and passing. He joined City in 2019 for a fee worth £62.
