MLB Veteran Shares Reason for Baltimore Orioles Decision

Yahoo Sports

An MLB player shared his reason for making an Orioles decision.

The Baltimore Orioles are already seeing the value of veteran depth early in the season, as Albert Suarez continues to make an impact despite a unique path back to the major-league roster due to injury. The 36-year-old faced an uncertain situation at the end of spring training after failing to secure a spot on the Orioles Opening Day roster. Rather than opting out of his minor league deal to explore other opportunities and likely a spot on another roster, the veteran right-hander made the decision to remain with the organization and accept an assignment to Triple-A.

“During the offseason, the Orioles showed me they wanted me back. And I also wanted to stay here. I think I made the right decision,” Suarez explained (h/t Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner).

Albert Suárez could've opted out of his minor league deal but he stayed with the organization. Why? “During the offseason, the Orioles showed me they wanted me back.
