In a "This is SportsCenter" style commercial for Battle Sports , a premier football-focused brand specializing in protective gear, apparel, and accessories, Smith plays the role of CEO with plenty of comedic relief. Some of the humor comes from playing catch inside the office space, catchy company mottos, and, maybe the best part, a direct jab at arch-rival Michigan. The commercial is full of puns and one-liners, as well as a cameo from South Florida youth football standout Roderick Louis III — better known as Lil Rod .
