The FSU Seminoles hammered Notre Dame in Game One of the series on Thursday. Isa Torres finished with four hits

The No. 8 Florida State Seminoles softball team beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-2 on Thursday at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Florida. They have won 22 straight games and improved to 33-4 overall and 10-0 in ACC play with the win.

Isa Torres once again gave FSU a 1-0 lead to start the game, hitting a leadoff triple off the wall and scoring on a throwing error. A single, a walk, and another error loaded the bases for Anna Hinde, who worked a walk. Kennedy Harp made it a 3-0 game with a sacrifice fly before Hayley Griggs lined out to end the inning.

Notre Dame got one run back in the second with a lead-off homer off of Jazzy Francik. They got two runners on in the first, but Francik kept them off the scoreboard with back-to-back strikeouts. The Fighting Irish stranded eight runners in the game.

The Seminoles offense got back to work in the third inning as Shelby McKenzie worked a leadoff walk and was replaced by Makenna Sturgis, who got to second on a groundout and stole third. Marin Heller walked and stole second, putting two runners in scoring position. Torres once again came through, doubling both in with her third hit of the game.
