Chris Duncan and Renato Moicano are on different career trajectories heading into UFC Fight Night 272 . Streaking lightweight Duncan (15-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) takes on former title challenger Moicano (20-7-1 MMA, 12-7 UFC) in Saturday's main event ( Paramount+ ) at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Duncan is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, three by finish.

Meanwhile, his American Top Team teammate is coming off back-to-back losses. Alan Jouban, who will be working the desk as an analyst for the fight, acknowledges the vast difference in the level of competition between the two. Although Moicano is on a skid, Jouban says he remains dangerous.

"It's really a good matchup to see, for me, where Chris Duncan is," Jouban told MMA Junkie. "Chris Duncan is a guy riding a four-fight win streak right now. Renato Moicano is on a two-fight skid, but you look at the damage that he did literally in that fight against Benoit Saint Denis a while back, and he showed you this is the type of guy that if he gets to the ground, if he gets to your back, he's either going to rear-naked choke you or he's going to do a significant amount of damage to get the fight stopped.

" Jouban thinks Duncan has enough tools to make noise in the lightweight division, and proceeded to break down his strengths. "Chris Duncan, he's just a war machine," Jouban said. "I don't think a lot of our viewers are that familiar with him, but he's a guy who came on Dana White's Contender Series, lost his first fight, got knocked out by Viacheslav, came back on Dana White's Contender Series and had that war where he was almost out, knocks out his opponent, and since then has been on a tear.
