Shohei Ohtani Voices Frustrations on His Early-Season Results
Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is off to a rough start in 2026, and stated he’s upset with his performances so far. Ohtani has just three hits through is games, and none of them have been for extra bases. He’s also yet to record an RBI in 2026.
After the first two series of the season, Ohtani has a . 590 OPS. He also batted in six games during spring training, and while he didn’t exactly struggle, he also didn’t appear to be at the level fans are used to.
He had a . 819 OPS during spring training, recording three RBIs with no home runs. “I’ve been able to get on base, and that’s a good thing,” Ohtani said.
“But on pitches that I should be making impact, I’m not quite able to do that to the extent that I should be able to. That’s the part that I’m not quite happy about. ” Ohtani is making up for his lack of hits by getting on base via base on balls, and currently leads the National League with seven.
He is also juggling a full season of pitching, which could be affecting his hitting.
