2026’s first Masters 1000 clay court tournament, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters , will be without five popular players. France’s Arthur Fils , a quarterfinalist in last year’s tournament, is the latest player to withdraw from the tournament. Fils is coming back from a back injury that sidelined him for most of the 2025 season.
He is trying to return in a responsible way so as to not injure himself again. The same is true for Jack Draper, also out of Monte Carlo. Draper is returning from an arm injury that forced him to withdraw in the middle of the US Open last fall.
