Kansas State guard David Castillo plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Kansas State guard David Castillo plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Castillo averaged 10. 3 points per game for the Wildcats this past season.
Castillo’s entry into the portal isn’t entirely surprising given the firing of former head coach Jerome Tang before the end of the season. He committed to Tang’s regime ahead of the 2024-25 season. However, Tang has since been replaced with Casey Alexander, the previous coach at Belmont .
For Castillo, he came to Kansas State as a four-star recruit according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Castillo was the No. 61 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class and the No.
10 point guard. He was also rated the No. 1 player from the state of Kansas, too.
