Rebilas-Imagn Images After giving the media a chance to speak to head coach Greg Schiano, offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarocca, and defensive coordinator Travis Johansen, the program has started the press conferences where members of the media can ask questions to position coaches. First up was tight ends coach Scott Vallone, who is known as one of the best recruiters on the team and is overseeing a position that is in the midst of a battle for the starting spot. The first question had to do with the battle going on for the tight end position and if anyone has jumped out so far in his eyes as someone to keep an eye on.
A few of the names he dropped when answering the question were Logan Blake and Mike Higgins due to their time in the system. He then mentioned other names, such as transfer tight end Kam Anthony and Ben Rothhaar, while mentioning that Blake performed well in the few games he started in 2024 when the position was dealing with a heavy amount of injuries. The second question had to do with what he liked about incoming transfer Kam Anthony that made him want to bring him in, and what they expect from him in the fall, given that he is dealing with an injury right now.
โI remember my first game. I remember we played Cincinnati in 2009. How nervous I was playing that game.
