Phil Mickelson to miss Masters due to family health matter

Phil Mickelson, a three-time Masters winner, announced he will not compete in the tournament due to a family health matter.

Another multiple-time Masters winner won't tee it up at Augusta National next week. Phil Mickelson announced Thursday he would not compete in the 90th Masters and would be out for an extended period of time due to a personal health matter involving family. "I have great respect for Augusta National Golf Club and it is definitely the most special week of the year," Mickelson posted on social media.

He did compete in South Africa, however, finishing T-48. The Masters field now sits at 91 players.
