Thursday Dots: Tina Langley Gets Paid

FORT WORTH, TEXAS - MARCH 22: Tina Langley of the Washington Huskies looks on in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament game between University of Washington and Texas Christian University at Schollmaier Arena on March 22, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. (Photo by Aric Becker/ISI Photos/ISI Photos via Getty Images) | ISI Photos via Getty Images After leading Washington to a second straight NCAA Tournament, Tina Langley has inked a six-year, $7. 1 million extension, per Percy Allen of The Seattle Times.

It’s a significant victory for the athletic department as Alabama was reportedly a strong suitor for her services. If Alabama’s reported interest is accurate, Langley’s decision to stay put reflects a similar one to ex-offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb when Nick Saban sought him out as ‘Bama’s next playcaller. Of course, Alabama would get the last laugh by luring Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa one year later.

Langley staying put makes Washington 2-1 in its coaching carousel rivalry with Alabama, but who’s counting? UW Athletics Dots Women’s Tennis standout Reece Carter is the Big Ten Player of the Week. She helped UW improve to 15-1 (6-1 Big Ten) with four individual victories.
