The Miami Dolphins traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos, and another wideout on the team didn't believe it was true.

Earlier this offseason, the Miami Dolphins shocked the NFL world, as they traded star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos for a package of three selections from the 2026 NFL draft. With that, the Dolphins are left with a rather thin receiver room led by the trio of James Tolbert, Tutu Atwell and Malik Washington, who is now the longest-tenured member of the position group. Washington, in a recent interview with Dolphins Talk, explained his reaction to the Waddle trade news.

"I was actually, I just finished a workout and I was headed back to my phone just to check it before I did a little bit of recovery and stuff," Washington said. "I think my agent had sent me a text, and I was like refreshing Instagram. It's just all Jaylen Waddle, Jaylen Waddle, Jaylen Waddle.

I'm like, 'there's no way. ' I didn't want to believe it was true. Obviously thereโ€™s a bunch of AI...

I just refused to believe that it was actually true until the big time [reporters] started posting. I was like, โ€˜damn, heโ€™s really not here anymore. โ€™ "That guy, like you said, everybody loves doing the Waddle.
