Daly is a rising young coach, having just turned 28 in January, but already being a key component of two NCAA Tournament coaching staffs, first at Bryant and then at VCU.

The Archbishop Carroll (Philadelphia Catholic League) product was CAA Rookie of the Year for Delaware in 2016-17 before coming home and playing at Saint Joseph’s for his junior and senior years in 2019-20 and 2020-21. Daly finished his collegiate career with 1800 points, and at 6 foot 5, combines for a terrific backcourt with Syracuse’s point guard (head coach), GMac, if the staffs were to play five-on-five. Daly played a season in the G League for the Agua Caliente Clippers, but quickly moved back east to coach, joining Dwayne Killings’ staff at UAlbany for the 2022-23 season.

After two seasons there, Phil Martelli Jr. added him to his second staff at Bryant, where he helped the Bulldogs have a program-best 23 wins and Top 150 KenPom rank en route to an NCAA bid. His head coach, Martelli, then took the head coaching job at VCU, and he joined him in Richmond, where he immediately maintained the high standard of the Rams’ program.

VCU made the NCAA Tournament and upset North Carolina in his first season. Daly is lauded for his recruiting, helping land 4-stars Sammy Jackson and Collin Ross as part of Martelli’s first class. Daly was named one of the 100 most impactful mid-major assistants/GMs by Silver Waves Media.
