North Eugene athlete wins Active Chiropractic girls Athlete of Week

This week's nominees were from Creswell, Marist Catholic, North Eugene, Pleasant Hill, Sheldon, South Eugene, Springfield and Thurston.

North Eugene softball player Ella Anderson is the winner of the Active Chiropractic high school girls Athlete of the Week, as voted by Register-Guard readers. A sophomore, Anderson went 4 for 4 with three RBIs March 22 to help the Highlanders to a 26-0 win over McKay. Anderson received 53.

82% of the reader poll votes. Thurston softball player Daphnie Heckel was second (34. 52%).

Anderson's time is the fastest in the state this season by nearly a full second. She also won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 5 1/4 inches โ€” good for second-best in the state this season.
