Salech, 24, has not played since sustaining the injury during a 1-1 draw against Stockport County on 24 January. He has resumed training but it remains unclear when he will be back in first-team action.

Following a fortnight without a game due to the international break, Cardiff resume their League One promotion bid at Peterborough United on Monday (15:00 BST), the first of their seven final games of the season. "Isaak is still out injured and Yousef is back in the very early stages of training with us," said head coach Brian Barry-Murphy.

"He [Salech] trained for the first time yesterday [Wednesday] with the group, so it's good to have him back. "Yousef back in training is great for us all. It's given us all a big lift to have him back and to recover from such a serious injury.

"But he has been out for a very long time with a very serious injury and he's still going through the process of making sure that he's OK in all the different aspects that he has to get through before we're really confident that he can be involved [in matches].
