The Patriots Hall of Fame committee held its annual meeting in a year when legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski is eligible for induction.

It’s almost time for another New England Patriots great to enter the franchise’s Hall of Fame in 2026. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots ’ Hall of Fame committee met on Wednesday ahead of this year’s induction. The Hall of Fame committee convenes every spring to deliberate on former players and coaches worthy of induction.

Candidates must be retired for a minimum of four years to be eligible for induction. The committee selects three finalists who are then voted on by Patriots supporters on the team’s official website to determine the lone entrant. Rob Gronkowski headlines the players in consideration for the first time in 2026.

Adam Vinatieri is among the Patriots greats who were not inducted in years prior after being named finalists. The Patriots established their team Hall of Fame in 1991, and John Hannah was its first inductee. The Hall’s Senior committee is also at liberty to select a player for entry who has been retired for 25 years without having been inducted through the fan vote.
