After officers at the scene observed him acting “lethargic,” he was arrested and taken to Martin County jail. Woods announced earlier this week that he was seeking treatment for his personal issues, and removed himself from consideration for the captain of the 2027 Ryder Cup team.
His attorney has asked for permission for Woods to leave the country to seek treatment, citing privacy concerns.
