Fantasy Basketball: Secure a championship with Dan Titus' weekend schedule and streaming advice

By Dan TitusYahoo Sports

Fantasy basketball analyst Dan Titus breaks down the final weekend of action to help you win your league.

The fantasy basketball season ends in most leagues this week, and if you're still alive in your playoffs, your waiver wire decisions over the next 48 hours matter more than any move you've made since October. Three teams stand out on the schedule: the New Orleans Pelicans, Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves, each playing three games over the weekend. Here's how to attack each one — and who to cut loose after Thursday.

New Orleans Pelicans (best schedule of the weekend) The Pelicans draw Portland, Sacramento and Orlando to close out Week 23. Depending on your lineup, you should be able to stream any Pelicans player on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. If Trey Murphy III remains out, I’d look for Saddiq Bey in shallow leagues and Herb Jones in deeper leagues to pick up additional slack.

If you need stocks, go for Herb; if you need scoring and rebounds, go for Bey. Jeremiah Fears should benefit when Dejounte Murray sits on one leg of their Thursday/Friday back-to-back, too. Lastly, target Derik Queen in deeper points and 9-cat leagues; he’s been playing better of late and should play at least 20-25 minutes and chip in across categories.

Charlotte Hornets Charlotte faces the Suns, Pacers and Timberwolves. Not too many options available, but I lean toward the big man route of Moussa Diabaté in shallow leagues with Ryan Kalkbrenner for deeper leagues. Both players shoot a high percentage from the field, with Diabaté being a low-end double-double threat and Kalkbrenner being a block specialist.
