Tennessee basketball guard Talaysia Cooper announces future decision with the Lady Vols.

Tennessee redshirt junior guard Talaysia Cooper announced a decision for her future with the Lady Vols. The 6-foot guard announced Thursday she will enter the NCAA transfer portal. "After a lot of thought and prayer, I've decided to enter the transfer portal to continue my journey," Cooper announced on Instagram .

Cooper joins Mia Pauldo, Mya Pauldo, Lauren Hurst, Alyssa Latham, Deniya Prawl and Kaniya Boyd who are transferring from the Lady Vols. The NCAA transfer portal will open April 6 after the NCAA Tournament national championship game. The 2025-26 basketball season was the second for Tennessee under head coach Kim Caldwell .

The Lady Vols had a 16-14 (8-8 SEC) record and were eliminated by North Carolina State in the NCAA Tournament first round. Tennessee had a 24-10 (8-8 SEC) record in Caldwell's first season. The Lady Vols defeated UConn in the regular season and advanced to the 2025 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
