The team currently sits in 12th place in the East, but three points out of a playoff berth. The Capitals enter Thursday with a three-game winning streak, their third of such since late January. However, Washington will have to win out with seven games left if they want to reach the playoffs.

On Tuesday, the Capitals closed the month of March with a 6-4 victory over Philadelphia. Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson both reached milestones as they each recorded two goals. Ovechkin’s first tally gave him his 20th 30-goal season of his career, as he now has 928 total.
