Luke Donald names his first vice-captain for 2027 Ryder Cup

Edoardo Molinari has been confirmed as one of Luke Donald’s vice-captains for Europe at the 2027 Ryder Cup . The 45-year-old will resume this crucial role for a third successive staging, having been involved in Europe’s victories in Rome in 2023 and New York last year. Molinari is set to rejoin captain Donald for the 2027 edition, which will be held in Ireland at Adare Manor in September.

He expressed his immediate acceptance, stating: "It was a very easy decision when Luke called me and asked me if I was willing to help him again. I was obviously very happy. I think any time you can get involved in the Ryder Cup, in any role, it’s a great thing and I cannot wait for Adare Manor to come soon enough.

“Luke is an unbelievable captain. He’s very well-liked by all the players. The great thing about him is that he leads by example.
