Rams GM would have voted for Browns' draft pick trade proposal

Les Snead would have loved to hear a full discussion around the Browns' proposal to let teams trade away picks five years in advance.

The Cleveland Browns withdrew their rule change proposal that would have allowed teams to trade draft picks up to five years in the future due to lack of support, but that doesn't mean everyone disagreed with the idea. Los Angeles Rams team president Kevin Demoff was one of the first ones to publicly support it , and now Rams general manager Les Snead said he also would have said yes to the proposal if he had a vote. Snead told FanDuel TV's Kay Adams during the NFL owners' meeting in Phoenix this week that he also wanted to hear the discussion for and against the proposal.

"I would have said yes," Snead said, "but I would have liked to have heard kind of the reasons for or against and at the end of the day just get it discussed. " Rams GM Les Snead says he would've BACKED the Browns draft pick trading proposal šŸ‘€ @heykayadams pic. twitter.

While Demoff and Snead voiced their opinions in the affirmative, head coach Sean McVay recently said he wouldn't have backed the proposal. Adams joked with Snead that McVay disagreed with the proposal only because he would be worried Snead would trade away all his first-round picks, but Snead seemed more interested in the idea the development of the league than using a new rule to stack his roster with veterans.

Snead added that while the proposal went away this time, it's not something that people will be talking about in the future. Whether a rule proposal like this comes up again, though, remains to be seen. This article originally appeared on Rams Wire: Rams GM would have voted for Browns' draft pick trade proposal
