Broncos host athletic ex-quarterback on pre-draft visit
9News reports the Broncos are hosting TE Evan Svoboda on a local pre-draft visit. He's an extremely athletic ex-quarterback.
The next Taysom Hill? The Denver Broncos are bringing in Wyoming tight end Evan Svoboda for a pre-draft visit this week, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis . Because he is considered a "local" prospect, Svoboda will not count toward the team's 30-player limit for pre-draft visits.
Svoboda (6-5, 248 pounds) spent one season as a backup quarterback at a community college in Utah before transferring to Wyoming ahead of the 2022 season. He stepped in as an injury replacement in the Utes' 2023 bowl game and went on to start at quarterback in 2024. In his lone season as a starting QB, Svoboda completed 49.
1% of his passes for 1,318 yards with five touchdowns against eight interceptions in 2024. He also rushed for five touchdowns. Svoboda converted to tight end ahead of the 2025 season, totaling 11 receptions for 92 yards and one score last fall.
He's an extremely athletic prospect with a 9. 87 Relative Athletic Score (RAS), second-best among TEs in this year's class . Despite that athleticism, Svoboda seems to be considered a late-round or undrafted free agent prospect, perhaps in part due to his limited experience at the position.
