Cardiff City Women appoint Bushby as new boss

Cardiff City appoint Noah Bushby as the club's new manager and head of women's and girls' football, succeeding Iain Darbyshire.

Noah Bushby has been working at Cardiff City for seven years [Football Association of Wales] Cardiff City have appointed Noah Bushby as the club's new manager and head of women's and girls' football. He succeeds Iain Darbyshire, who is leaving after leading the Bluebirds to three successive Adran Premier titles before missing out to Wrexham this season. Having most recently been assistant coach to Darbyshire, Bushby first joined Cardiff to take charge of their under-16 side, winning the FAW Girls' Cup, before stepping up to the Under-19s.

He led them to a league title and the SWFA Women's Cup in April 2024. During his time with Cardiff's age-grade sides, Bushby helped develop current Adran Premier players such as Mikayla Cook and Madison Lloyd. He officially begins his role on Monday and will lead the Bluebirds in the Welsh Cup Final against Swansea City on 19 April.

"I've been a part of the success that we've had and I know what it takes to be successful. I want us to continue that and keep pushing our women's programme forward.

"I will have learned a lot from Iain [Darbyshire], he's been a great leader of our team but I have my own ideas and my own ways of doing things. I definitely want to put those into place. " Cardiff chief executive Ken Choo said: "Noah has been a key part of the progress within our women's and girls' programme for several years, and his appointment reflects the impact he has already made.
